American viewers and online news readers quickly noticed something was wrong with how Dallas nurse Amber Vinson was transferred by air to Atlanta several hours ago. What got their attention was a man in plain clothes, with no mask on, mingling with personnel in hazmat suits very close to where Vinson was - from the time she was taken out from the ambulance that brought her to the airport in Dallas up to when she was led up the steps to the aircraft.

Video footage about the transfer quickly went viral as it showed Vinson standing up from a stretcher and walking up the airplane steps - all the while shadowed by the man who wasn't wearing any protective suits!
Four other personnel were wearing white hazmat suits, with two of them even equipped with what looked like breathing apparatus. The man was carrying a yellow envelope, and later in the video was handed one of two red bags.
Viewers quickly took to Twitter and expressed surprise at the scene, showing everyone else protected, including Vinson who wore yellow hazmat clothing.
Twitter user JR said, "It's like there are people sent to make sure in each situation something goes wrong!"
Phoenix Air, operator of the aircraft that flew Vinson to Atlanta, later clarified the man was really supposed to be there and was following protocol.
Randy Davis, vice president at Phoenix Air, said the man's job was to ensure the transfer procedure was proper, and that he was trained to keep a safe distance from patients being transported.
At the airport in Atlanta, a similar scene was repeated when the plane arrived and Vinson emerged from it, to be led into an ambulance waiting on the tarmac. She is now at Emory University Hospital.
