A body found in an area roughly 20 miles south of Seattle is believed to be that of Misty Upham, the actress who had been reported missing by her family since Oct. 6.

In a statement given by Auburn Police Commander Steve Stocker, Upham's father reported her disappearance on Oct. 6 and urged the immediate search for the 32-year-old actress as she had been suffering from undisclosed mental health issues.

Police records show that she was last spotted walking alone from an apartment the day preceding her disappearance. The last location the Native American star had been seen was somewhere near Auburn.

Stocker disclosed on Thursday that Auburn police officers were notified of a report regarding a body, which was discovered in a wooded region at the foot of a 150-foot embankment close to the White River located in Auburn.

In addition, investigators found a purse that had Upham's identification documents at the scene. However, a medical examiner is yet to positively identify the body, as well as determine the cause of death.

According to Stoker, one of Upham's family members was the person to find the body while searching the area for the missing actress. The police was later alerted by the discovery.

Prior to this incident, Upham's home has been repeatedly visited by the police due to reports of suicide attempts.

In a magazine report following the disappearance of the actress, some of her friends claimed that Upham had been under quite a lot of pressure and stress stemming from various concerns pertaining to the lifestyle of an actress in Hollywood.

Upham, who has been known to portray the role of a housekeeper in 'August: Osage County', was reported to have been trying her best to make ends meet. The 32-year-old star has also completed filming her latest movie titled 'Cake', which featured her working alongside Jennifer Aniston. 

"She was doing everything she could to make it, but there were times she couldn't even make her own rent," added the source.
