Apple's new iPhone 6 competes Samsung's Galaxy Note 4, which has been on pre-order from U.S. major wireless carriers.

Hardware, software, and storage

iPhone 6 Plus: It features an A8 64-bit dual core and and M8 motion co-processor. Clocked at 1.4GHz. It offers a 1GB of RAM and comes with 16GB, 64GB and 128GB options for the internal storage.

Galaxy Note 4: It comes with 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. Note 4 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI. It has an impressive 3GB of RAM and choices between 32GB and 64GB for the internal storage.

Display, exterior design and size

iPhone 6 Plus: The 5.5-inch new iPhone has aluminum back case sporting a premium look. It comes in silver, gold and slate grey color.

Its IPS panel display has 1920 x 1080 screen resolution with 401 ppi pixel densities. It/s dubbed the 'Retina HD'. Its size is 158mm x 78mm x 7.1mm and 172 grams heavy.

Galaxy Note 4: It has a 5.7-inch Super Amoled display. Its screen resolution is 2560 x 1440 with 515 ppi pixel densities.

Consumers can choose from four colors: black, white, gold, and pink. It comes in faux leather plastic and has a metal band running around its edge. Its dimension is 154mm x 79mm x 8.5mm and it's four times heavier than the iPhone 6 Plus.

Camera and battery

iPhone 6 Plus: Its primary camera is only 8MP with an aperture of f/2.2. it also offers optical image stabilization. It can record slow motion and time lapse movies. It has 2915 mAh battery.

Galaxy Note 4: It features an impressive 16 megapixel main snapper and 3.7 megapixel front camera. It offers a good good 4K video recording. Its battery unit is 3220 mAh.

Other features

Galaxy Note 4 has a stylus pen called S Pen. It also features an Ultra Power Saving Mode to prevent the device for running out of battery power.

It has a fast charging feature as well that can give the device 50 percent for just 30 minutes.

The new Samsung device offers a Multi Window feature that lets users multitask.

Both smartphones offer NFC payments. iPhone 6 Plus has Apple Pay and Galaxy Note 4 has Google Wallet and Soft Card.

Price

iPhone 6 Plus: Consumers can get the device on contract with U.S. carriers starting US$300 and US$750 off contract.

Galaxy Note 4: It sells for US$300 with 2-year contract and US$600 without the contract in the U.S.
