35-year old Ian Somerhalder and 26-year old Nikki Reed are loved-up and they're certainly not afraid to show it. But while each one gushes over the other, Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend and current "Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev is pained over the coupling.

A source shared that 25-year old Dobrev has been so upset over the relationship that she is considering leaving their hit CW series when her contract expires at the end of the sixth season.

Because Dobrev might leave the show, producers have asked Somerhalder not to bring Reed to the set. They [the producers] worry that the show would fall apart without her [Dobrev]," the insider added.

The source doesn't believe that the actress will try to get out of her contract before the season ends, since it would be very costly. However, despite the unlikelihood of her exit during the middle of the season ends, it can happen. Dobrev hasn't also signed on for anything beyond the series' current season.

Somerhalder and Reed aren't at all shy about flaunting their love both online and off. The two have even purchased pets together.

Reed was previously married to "American Idol" alum Paul McDonald whom she met at a red carpet event in March 2011. After the event, the two began a whirlwind romance and, eventually got engaged in June 2011 and married in October of the same year. Citing irreconcilable differences, Reed filed for divorce on May 16, 2014.

While Reed and McDonald were still married, the two were already friends with Dobrev and Somerhalder who were dating for two years. The four were said to have been close, going out on double dates in the past.

Dobrev and Somerhalder may have broken off their relationship in May 2013, but the two have still continued to work together on the set of "Vampire Diaries" where they first met.
