(Photo : ipad-air-2) Apple has announced the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 at their event in Cupertino.

Apple's online store ceased selling products Friday, just before 4:30 a.m. PT, and online users were faced with a standard message that said its servers were busy at the moment.

"We'll be back," the site read in multiple languages. "We're busy updating the Apple Store for you and will be back soon."

The Cupertino-based company revealed the iPad Air 2 on Thursday. Apple's newest tablet sports a 9.7-inch Retina display, a thinner body than its older versions, Touch ID support and the option of 128GB, 64GB or 16GV of storage. The tech firm is putting a starting cost of the iPad Air 2 at $499, with an additional $130 for every model for LTE support.

The event on Thursday was Apple's second in recent months, with this one toned down in comparison with the unveiling of the Apple Watch, the company's first entry in the wearable tech market, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in September, according to CNET's Don Reisinger. Aside from the iPad Air 2, Apple announced an iOS 8 update, the latest-generation iPad Mini and OS X Yosemite, the company's operating system for its Mac computers.

Although the company touted the triumph of its iPhone 6 sales, Apple wasn't able to offer any basis for the claim, which is in contrast to its behavior as the firm has shared such data several times in the past.

Apple also remained silent in its announcement of the details of the launch for the iPad Air 2. While the firm said the preorders would begin Friday for the tablet, Apple said the launch would be occurring "sometime next week."

Right before the company's online store went down, it had displayed a similar message regarding the launch of Apple's newest tablet.
