Marvel is adding a lot of actors to its list of possible Doctor Strange actors. The latest addition? Ryan Gosling!

The new dad is rumored to be considered to play the Master of the Mystic Arts. It was reported that he also recently met with Marvel Studios regarding playing the role of Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange will get a movie of his own, and to star as the title role will be a big boost in an actor's career, especially now, in the time where the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to just be spewing box office hits one after another. 

Gosling had stayed away from playing superhero roles due to the requirement that playing one means having a long term contract.

The Hollywood Reporter's article on the rumored meeting with Marvel does not say much else about how the meeting went. However, the writer of the article did point out that Gosling is also being considered to take part in "The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero."

Marvel has yet to release an official statement regarding the upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie, but it is believed that the movie will be released in July 2016. The only thing known is that Scott Derrickson has been named the director of the movie.

The other actors being considered to play the role of Doctor Strange are Jared Leto, Oscar Isaac, Matthew McConaughey. Jake Gyllenhaal, Ethan Hawke, Joaquin Phoenix, and Ewan McGregor.

Doctor Strange, who is also known as Sorcerer Supreme, is one of the most powerful characters of Marvel. He is constantly described as "the mightiest magician in the cosmos," and rightfully so. Aside from being blessed to travel different planes of existence, he can also alter reality and seriously kick some ass with his martial arts training.
