Clorenzo Mack Griffin, a Miami-based U.S. marshal was recently arrested for armed robbery of 24 pounds of marijuana, according to reports.
The 37-year-old off-duty U.S. marshal was a long way from home as the robbery took place across the country in Yuba City, Calif.
Griffin and two other men were reportedly all in possession of a firearm and wearing police gear as they robbed a jeep full of marijuana. However, Griffin was the only person of the group of armed robbers later confirmed as an actual officer.

The group successfully hijacked the jeep at gunpoint, but was later detected by an officer in his patrol car when the armed robbers ran through a red light. A car chase then ensued before all three occupants quickly got out of the vehicle in an effort to flee the scene.
According to reports, Griffin pulled out his gun as he exited the vehicle and pointed it toward the officer, however the officer began firing his weapon and Griffin then froze up and surrendered.
The two affiliates, Rodney Rackley and Andre Jamison, were quickly found and arrested soon after.
Details about the victims of the robbery is currently unknown. Griffin was suspended with pay awaiting the conclusion of the investigation.
