NFL wide receiver Percy Harvin was traded Friday from the Seattle Seahawks to New York Jets for a conditional 2015 draft pick. The pick will range from second round to fourth round depending on his production as a Jet, sources said.
Harvin, 26, must pass a physical for the trade to be completed. He has played in just 43 NFL games since being chosen by the Minnesota Vikings as their first-round pick, 22nd overall, in the 2009 draft.

Still. Harvin is known as a game-breaking playmaker due to his great speed and football instincts. Injuries, personnel and personal issues, however, sent up red flags along with rumors this season that the Seahawks were looking to trade him.
The Vikings traded Harvin to Seattle in March 2013 for first-round and seventh-round 2013 draft choices and a third-round 2014 choice. He signed a six-year contract with the Seahawks for $25.5 million guaranteed and $67 million overall.
Harvin had hip surgery after that and appeared n only one regular-season game for the Seahawks although he had a productive Super Bowl appearance with an 87-yard kickoff return to kick off the second half and 45 yards rushing on two carries. Seattle beat the Denver Broncos 43-8 in that game.
This year, Harvin has been battling through a thigh injury limiting his production. Known for great speed, he has been limited to 22 receptions covering 133 yards. More than half those catches have been behind the line of scrimmage with only one of more than 10 years in the air. His six yards per catch average is last in the NFL for all wide receivers with a minimum of two catches per game.
Harvin was listed as questionable for the Seahawks Sunday game. The Jets played their Week 7 game Thursday night against the New England Patriots, so the first opportunity for Harvin to suit up with his new team in on Oct. 26.
The Jets were highly motivated to try to do something about their anemic offensive production this year. The team has lost six straight games since winning opening day against the Oakland Raiders.
The Jets have struggled with embattled quarterback Geno Smith and top receiver Eric Decker suffering from a variety of ailments. Decker figures to retain his starting job with fellow wide receiver Jeremy Kerley playing the slot.
