Following the rumors that South Korean girl group 2NE1 is disbanding, its talent outfit YG Entertainment responds, saying that the news is false and absurd.
It was previously reported that there were rumors floating around that the four-member girl group, 2NE1, is headed to disbandment. Speculations that the group is splitting came from the announcement of one of the members' - CL's - upcoming solo activities in the U.S. in spring next year.

However, the issue that fueled the rumor that one of the most popular group in Korea is disbanding was when Minzy, the youngest member of 2NE1, removed the word '2NE1' from her usernames in several of her social networking service accounts including Instagram and Twitter.
The singer also allegedly uploaded some suspicious posts on her Instagram account which worried Blackjacks, the band's fans, of the 2NE1's impending disbandment.
A representative from YG Entertainment has released a statement in response to the rumors. The company has refuted claims that 2NE1 is disbanding.
According to the statement, the company has taken note of the fact that Minzy's SNS accounts have been receiving much attention and that it has allegedly sparked the rumors. YG Entertainment has then stated that the singer personally manages her account, adding that it was absurd for people to be making up rumors based on her decision to change her usernames.
Minzy's account usernames have then been changed back to how they used to be in order to quell the rumor.
On the other hand, YG Entertainment has also released a statement regarding the absence of one of the members, Park Bom, who was recently involved in a drug smuggling scandal.
The statement they have released claims that Park is currently promoting overseas through concerts which were scheduled before news of her scandal broke out.
The company stated that 2NE1 cannot perform as a group without said member, adding that she is not yet allowed to appear in Korean media as she is still reflecting on what she has done in the past.
To end their statement, the company encouraged 2NE1's fans to continue supporting them until they make their comeback in the music scene.
