Stephen Collins Will not be Facing Prosecution
Staff Reporter | | Oct 19, 2014 12:07 PM EDT |
7th Heaven star Stephen Collins, whois being investigated will not face prosecution in any of the three child molestation cases though he was caught admitting it on tape.
A source said that this is because, the cases are already prescribed or too old. The law of limitations has run out on two of the three cases and in the third case, the victim has not come forward.

The actor can sleep in peace for now unless, a district attorney can come up with a recent victim who is willing to come forward and talk on the molestation. The three known molestations occurred almost 20-years ago, with girls under the age of 13.
The Los Angeles Police Department was alerted about one of the three cases, a couple years ago, but no arrests were made because there was not enough evidence to push through with the case.
The actor's lawyer released a statement saying that the release of the tapes, where he confessed to the molestations, was just a ploy of the ex-wife, Faye Grant, to get more money from Collins.
The statement said that Faye had repeatedly threatened Stephen, that she will give the said audiotape to the media, unless he agreed to pay her, millions of dollars more, than what she is legally entitled to.
Unfotunately, damage has been done to Collin's career. In the midst of the scandal, the actor resigned from his position at the Screen Actors Guild Board and was fired from TED 2 and most recently, was let go by his talent agency.
Faye Grant has since denied any involvement in the release of the tapes.
