After speculations surfaced that 'Frozen River' star Misty Upham committed suicide, her father, Charles Upham, stepped forward to refute the notion, saying that she most likely got into an accident while running from Auburn police whom he accused of treating his daughter unjustly.

On previous reports, Misty's body was found near a cliff in Auburn, Washington, five days after she went missing. The initial findings of the investigation later reveal that the actress has taken her own life as her purse was found near the place where she most probably have fallen from.
However, the actress' father denied these speculations and stated that his daughter might have fallen off the ravine accidentally while she was running away from the police.
Charles Upham has taken to Facebook to post about, saying that his daughter did not commit suicide. "We believe she ran into the wooded area behind her apartment to hide from the police," adding that the area where she had possibly gone to had a 'hidden drop off' where she could have slipped and fallen off. He insisted that evidence points to what led to his daughter's demise.
According to Misty's father, she was suffering from mental illness, blaming the local police officials for it and accusing them of treating her unjustly.
According to Charles, Misty had been afraid of the Auburn Police Department officers. In his post, he has revealed that that said authorities have picked up the actress on an involuntary transport to the ER of a nearby hospital. Furthermore, the actress is said to have been cuffed and placed in a police car.
In his post, Misty's father implied that the police officers were bullying the actress and he along with his family had been a witness to the events prior to her death.
"They were tapping on the window making faces at her. Misty was crying and she told them, 'You can't treat me like this. I'm a movie actress and I will use my connections to expose you'," wrote Charles on his Facebook page. "Then another officer walked up to her asked, 'Are you a movie star? Then why don't you complain to George Clooney!"
The media has reached the Aburn police commander, Steve Stocker, but he has declined to comment on Charles' claims, only saying that he has never spoken to Misty ever.
