Moto Droid Turbo vs Moto X 2014: Battle Between Two Motorola Smartphones

Though the Moto Droid Turbo and the Moto X 2014 come from the same mobile vendor, Motorola, they still have their differences in terms of specs and features.

Motorola is still innovating to keep up with its strongest competitors, Apple and Samsung.

The Moto X 2014 version has been released and the Moto Droid Turbo will make it to market agt an unannounced date. Here's the comparison of these brothers.

Hardware, software, and storage

Moto Droid Turbo: Powered by quad-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 2.6GHz and is armed with a Snapdragon 805 processor. The device runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It offers 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage.

Moto X: Its operating system is Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS and is upgradable to Android L. It's powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz. It features 2GB of RAM and offers 16GB and 32GB of internal storage.

Display, design, and size

Moto Droid Turbo: It features a 5.2-inch QHD display made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that makes it scratch-and-scuff- proof. It has a 1440 x 2560 screen resolution with 565 ppi pixel density.

It's made of Kevlar, a smooth bullet-proof material used to make helmets and armored vests.

Moto X: Features a 5.2-inch but an Amoled display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution and a pixel density of 424 ppi.

It sports an aluminum frame and both the front and back panels can be personalized. Its bigger logo at the back is encircled by a metal ring.

Camera

Moto Droid Turbo: It has a 21 megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and the front camera is still unknown.

Moto X: Its front camera is 13 megapixel with dual-LED flash while sporting a 2 megapixel rear-facing shooter good for doing selfies.

Battery

Moto Droid Turbo: It features a gargantuan, 3,900mAh battery difficult to drain.

Moto X: It contains a Li-Ion 1860 mAh battery.

Additional features

The infrared sensor of Moto X  2014 can be used to turn-off the alarm clock or reject calls by swiping one's hand above the screen.

Both devices support near field communication (NFC).

Moto Droid Turbo has Motorola's Turbo Charge feature (eight hours of battery life charging it for just 15 minutes).

The Droid Turbo includes Droid Zap, an app that makes image sharing easy. It only requires the sender to slide two fingers on his or her display while the receiver performs a downward two-finger swipe.
