343 Industries Releases One-day 20GB Update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo 5

343 Industries announced the 20GB day one update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The American video game developer said the game has gone gold and they're ending development as the game discs go into production.

In addition to the day-one patch, Halo: The Master Chief Collection takes up almost all the usable space on a Blu-Ray disc, according to studio head for Halo external development Dan Ayoub from 343 Industries.

The day one update includes features and multiplayer content and adds to the game's 45GB install size.

Only the game's campaigns will be available before players can download the update. The update will be available for download before the game launches for those that pre-order the digital edition.

"Our work is not done, however, as we continue to tune, tweak and optimize the online experience to ensure a smooth multiplayer launch. This will continue right up until launch day," Ayoub added.

343 Industries also confirmed a global release date for Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be on November 11.

There are countries that will get the game on a later date, including Belgium (November 12), Japan (November 13), and France (November 14).

Currently, the game is available for digital pre-order and pre-download with a selling price of US$109.95.

The digital pre-orders have Boom Skull unlock for Halo 2: Anniversary and it will be exclusive until December 12.

The Spartan Ops (an episodic co-op experience from Halo 4) will not be included in the December release.
