Spokesman Hong Lei said at a regular press briefing that the Chinese mainland's policy on Taiwan's contact with foreign countries is consistent and clear.
The mainland hopes Japan will honor its commitment on the Taiwan issue and handle the situation properly and prudently, he added.
The treaty is basically about the rights of fishing around Diaoyu islands. Japan authority determined to allow the fishermen from Taiwan to fish freely around Diaoyu islands. Formerly, there is 12 miles line to restrict anyone whoever approached the islands.
However, some type of analysis says this: Japan is trying to undermine the relationship between China and Taiwan who have been closer than ever by the protection over the disputed islands against Japan.
