15-Year-Old Marlisa Punzalan is X Factor Australia's Newest Champ

Fifteen-year-old Filipina-Australian singer Marlisa Punzalan won the hearts of judges and Australia and bagged home the top prize at the X-Factor Australia 2014 Monday.
Punzalan was proclaimed the winner in a three-way battle. She contended bravely and squarely with equally winnable Brothers3 and Dean Ray.

The teen singing sensation was coached by former Boyzone member Ronan Keating.
Punzalan received three standing ovations from the crowd after delivering a powerhouse performance that gave goose bumps to everyone at the studio and those watching in their homes. She sang "Yesterday" by The Beatles, her winning performance, "Stand By You", and a duet with Jessica Mauboy for "Never Be The Same Again".
The teen singer revealed that she has "loved every bit" of her journey when asked during the show's finale night.
In her Instagram page, Punzalan can't help but pour out her emotions. She wrote: "What an amazing GRAND FINALE!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything!!! Loved every bit of my incredible journey and you are all with me in this. Your support means the world to me, please don't forget to VOTE!! I will never forget all of your unbelievable support even after X Factor!!! You have changed my life forever!!!! God Bless and much Love, Marlisa."
Punzalan, whose parents hailed from the Philippines, was the only Filipino performer who succeeded through the finals and went home with the title.
