With all the rust being shaken off, Derrick Rose was looking in top form - a mirror of his old self - for the first time after his second major knee surgery, in a previous game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He scored 30 points in a losing effort, 107-98.

While the game was carried out during the pre-season, the anticipation was palpable throughout the arena.

Two contending teams met that night, with the starting five members from both teams playing heavy minutes and staying in until late in the fourth quarter.

The Chicago Bulls had lost that night, mainly due to the 28 points from their own point guard, Kyrie Irving.

Despite that, it was the performance of Rose that easily stood out in the night.

He was visibly the best player on the floor that night, dropping 30 points, with five rebounds, and three assists in only 24 minutes of play.

His aggression was reminiscent of previous season that helped him take home the 2011 Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. He was virtually unstoppable going to the ring.

Apart from that, there was a sense of teamwork for the Bulls. Perhaps it was also a sense of fear as well.

At one point of the game, Rose drove to the basket and made the shot. He fell out of bounds though and remained on the floor.

When the team realized it was taking him a while to get up, the whole roster left the bunch to help Rose out and make sure he was alright. He was.

For the Cavaliers, Anderson Varejao and Lebron James also had big games. Varejao had 22 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. James got 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

The Cavaliers improve their preseason record to 5-1, and will face the Memphis Grizzlies next.

The Bulls' record falls to 4-3 and hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
