James Blunt: 'You're Beautiful' is Annoying

English singer-songwriter James Blunt dubbed his 2005 hit track 'You're Beautiful' annoying.

Blunt released his sentimental song 'You're Beautiful' back in 2005. The song has since sold more than four million copies worldwide and topped music charts in 10 countries, also earning a Grammy nomination for record of the year.

However, according to some, the song has been overly played on both radio and television which resulted to criticism against Blunt. Despite that, it looks like the former British soldier agrees with the cynics, revealing that he found the song annoying as well.

On a recent interview the 40-year old singer had with a British magazine, he said, "There was one song that was force-fed down people's throats - 'You're Beautiful' - and it became annoying."

According to Blunt, the song brings back to mind the time when he suddenly met his former girlfriend on the London underground with another man. The singer described the scene in the chorus part of the lyrics, which, one way or the other, majority of the English-speaking population have more or less memorized.

Reflecting upon the song, Blunt states that due to the lyrics of the song, it became more appealing to the female listeners which he thinks made him lose his male fan base.

Furthermore, according to the 'You're Beautiful' singer, the marketing end of his record label made him appear like an 'insanely serious and earnest person' when he's anything but that.

However, the singer has been touring in order to promote his album 'Moon Landing' which was released in 2013, saying that he feels that the connection made by the public between himself and sentimental songs have decreased.

"I have a couple of over-emotional miserable songs that I'm known for, but I think it's turned that corner now," says Blunt, adding that people could now see the side of him that doesn't take things too seriously.
