China and the United States have agreed to find more effective but peaceful measures to denuclearize North Korea following its recent declaration that it will carry out a "new form" of nuclear test "soon."
The two superpowers have held a series of "productive" talks Monday and Tuesday as part of their diplomatic plans to rid Pyongyang of its nuclear arsenal in the wake of its nuclear threats.

The US State Department announced that Glyn Davies, their pointman for North Korea policy, met with his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei in New York for a series of high-level talks and that the two officials will resume their discussions on Friday in Washington.
"The United States and China agree on the fundamental importance of a denuclearized North Korea," the State Department said, adding that the two countries are determined to reach this goal in a peaceful manner.
The talks came on the heels of earlier discussions among US, South Korean and Japanese diplomatic representatives on what to do with North Korea.
These three nations, along with Russia and China, had been trying to strike a nuclear deal with North Korea in recent years but Pyongyang refused to go back to the negotiating table in 2008.
Pyongyang announced its new form of nuclear test after the United Nations Security Council condemned its March 26 firing of missiles into the sea, the first in four years of firing mid-range missiles that could have hit Japan.
A series of rocket launches was fired by Pyongyang over a span of two months thereafter.
Sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council targets the entities responsible for its buildup of nuclear arsenal as well as economic sanctions banning the export of luxury goods to the country.
