Celebrities and public figures continue to remember the legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta who has died at the age of 82.

Sarah Jessica Parker, a good friend of the designer, has released a statement about the passing of her dear friend. She said in a statement: "Knowing that sadly none of us will have more time with the beloved and resplendent Oscar de la Renta only enhances my exuberant appreciation of the time he gave." She also cited the designer's talent and friendship he allowed to share to the world.

SJP also talked de la Renta on having his name stitched onto her Met Gala gown she wore this year so his genius can be more appreciated during the event.

Aside from SJP, Michelle Obama also expressed her thoughts about the renowned designer. She noted that the designer was a pioneer and a visionary who helped generation of women in embracing their beautiful and confident selves adding that her thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Another public figure has expressed her condolences on Twitter, Laura Bush noted that she and former president George are saddened about the passing of their dear friend and that they will both miss his generous and warm personality as well as his talent. She also cited their two daughters who have been very fond of the designs of de la Renta.

Piper Perabo also tweeted a quote by the designer: "The qualities I most admire in women are confidence and kindness~Oscar de la Renta Thank you for all the beauty you gave us. ‪#‎oscardelarenta."

Comedienne Kathy Griffin also posted four photos in which she was seen wearing gowns designed by de la Renta.

de la Renta has been diagnosed with cancer back in 2006 and it was his cause of death, a family member confirms. His clothes are said to be classic, elegant, feminine and flattering. Many Firs Ladies were able to wear his clothes and celebrities were really into his designs as a lot have strutted their dresses designed by him in the red carpet.
