Speaking at the Elle Women In Hollywood event held in Beverly Hills, Jennifer Garner spoke openly about the fact that despite feminism being very much present in today's society, sexism continues to exist in Hollywood.
She said that the fact that a women-centric event needs to be held in Hollywood is sad.

"I mean, the men in Hollywood event is every day - it's called Hollywood. Fifty-one per cent of the population should not have to schedule a special event to celebrate the fact that in an art that tells the story of what it means to be human and alive, we get to play a part," she stated.
Garner then gave her and her husband's situation. The actress, who is married to "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" actor Ben Affleck, shared with the audience that she has the same career as her husband, however, the Hollywood's perceptions of them are different.
She recounted that she and Affleck were in separate junkets a few days ago to promote their respective movies.
The mother-of-three then shared that after the junkets, they went home and compared notes regarding the questions reporters asked. A surprised Garner shared with Affleck that each and every reporter who interviewed her asked the same thing - and that was how she managed to balance work and family.
Affleck, on the other hand, shared with his wife that the question that was asked repeatedly during his interviews was about his "Gone Girl" co-star Emily Ratajkowski's breasts.
Garner said that not one reporter asked her husband about how he balanced his career with family during the press junket interviews, or any other interviews he has ever had in his career. The actress said that that was odd to her, especially since she shares the same family with Affleck.
"Isn't it time to kinda change that conversation?" Garner asked, concluding her speech.
