The 27-year-old Serb announced that he and then fiancée Jelena were having a baby in April and in May, Djokovic was asked on the expected date of the arrival which he commented in saying that he had "been told not to say."
The couple has been seeing each other since 2006 and got engaged in September of last year.
Shortly after winning Djokovic's second Wimbledon Championship title in London, the couple got married on July 12 in Montenegro and had a short honeymoon in the islands of Greece.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion's official website also noted of the baby's arrival and that the family will be spending the next few days together in Nice and then travel to Paris where he will be competing at the BNP Paribas Masters.
The 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic, who is currently competing at the WTA Finals in Singapore, and fellow compatriot has known Djokovic since they were children said it was "great news."'
"I actually found out this morning after I woke up, and I was really thrilled for them," Ivanovic said. "It's one of the best moments you can have in life. I got goose bumps. It's really thrilling, and I'm really happy for them."
After the tournament in Paris, Djokovic will then proceed to London and defend his title at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals slated to start Sunday on Nov. 9.
