The deadly shooting of a soldier in Parliament Hill in Ottawa prompted New Brunswick to close its legislature to the public until further notice.

Bussieres also said he will review the security measures set for Friday's election of the new Speaker of the Legislature. He said he found the incident very upsetting, especially in an "open society" like Canada.
The sergeant-at-arms called the shooting an attack on the country's democratic system, the report added.
Premiere Brian Gallant conveyed is shock and sadness after learning of the attack on the Canadian Force member yesterday.
"New Brunswick is a safe place to live, but it is important to remain vigilant against threats to our security," said Gallant.
Aside from New Brunswick, the Ontario legislature also elevated its security measures after the deadly incident. The Province House in Halifax asked the police to recheck the area and the British Columbia also closed its legislature to the public, the report detailed.
The attack on Parliament Hill occurred yesterday after a man carrying a rifle shot one of the soldiers guarding the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The attacker then proceeded to seize a car and drove to the doors of the Centre Block.
Witnesses recalled hearing several shots being fired inside the Parliament. Another eyewitness said the gunman died after the House of Commons Sergeant-at-Arms shot him, the report relayed.
Meanwhile, several MPs of New Brunswick are now locked inside Parliament Hill, CBC News confirmed. Saint John MP Rodney Weston, Beausejour MP Dominic LeBlanc and Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe MP Robert Goguen are among those locked down.
