Pink Floyd's 'The Endless River' Named as the Most Pre-Ordered Album of the Year by Amazon

English rock band Pink Floyd is back in the music scene with the announcement of their album "The Endless River"  which was named the most pre-ordered album of the year by Amazon.

Two weeks before its release, Amazon.com, the largest internet international electronic commerce company, has named Pink Floyd's new album "The Endless River"  as the most pre-ordered album of the year, possibly beating One Direction in the website's list.

Scheduled for release on November 10, Pink Floyd's new album is set to beat "Midnight Memories," the album that English-Irish boy band One Direction release last year, for the most pre-ordered album of all time.

In order to achieve the title, "The Endless River"  must beat several albums as well including Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream," Robbie Williams' "Swing Both Ways" and Take That's "Progress." "The Endless River" is said to be currently on the number five spot in the list.

Earlier this month, the members of the band confirmed that "The Endless River" will be their final album. Co-lead vocalist and guitarist David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason announced their decision to stop releasing new music in an interview with BBC 6 Music.

According to Gilmour, since their keyboardist Rick Wright has passed away, he is sure that there wouldn't be any follow-ups after "The Endless River."  Additionally, he stated that his wife thought it would have been a good idea to go on, but he said that the album would be their last.

Pink Floyd's "The Endless River"  will be released as a tribute to the late Rick Wright, whose talent, according to the members, has been underestimated by both the public and the band members themselves.

As for the cover art of the album, which depicts a man on a boat treading his way through a sea of clouds and towards a bright horizon, it was designed by a teenage Egyptian artist named  Ahmed Emad Eldin. Eldin replaced Storm Thorgerson who created the cover art for "Dark Side of the Moon" before he passed away last year.
