Danish star Caroline Wozniacki topped sixth seeded Agnieszka Radwanska in straight sets 7-5 6-3 to lead Group White of the WTA Finals in Singapore on Thursday.

The Rogers Cup champion got a good head start against the eighth seeded Wozniacki as Radwanska broke the Dane early in the first set to take a 3-0 lead but Wozniacki quickly bounced back as she rallied five straight games to go ahead 5-3.

Aga (Radwanska's nickname) finally broke Wozniacki back and held serve to level the set at five apiece but the New York City marathoner found a chance to break Aga again to finally win the set.

The second set was of similar fashion as the 25-year-old Pole got an early lead but the U.S. Open finalist broke back twice and won four straight games to come out on top in a match that lasted an hour and 46 minutes.

"I knew from the start this wasn't going to be an easy match," Wozniacki said. "It was going to be a match with a lot of long rallies and some incredible shot making."

Wozniacki, 24, won an epic three-hour match against French Open champion Maria Sharapova in their first round-robin encounter and has expected another long match against the Pole.

"I thought today could be another long one - we had so many really long points. I'm ready for anything. You know, I'm running a marathon in 10 days so I'm getting some good preparation," added Wozniacki.

Indeed the Danish star will be participating at the New York City Marathon this coming Nov. 2 and will be running for the "Team for Kids" charity.

Wozniacki now leads Group White with a perfect 2-0 record and is one step closer in clinching a semifinals appearance.

The Danish star's last appearance in the semifinals was in 2010 where she made it into the finals but lost to then champion three-time tournament winner Kim Clijsters.
