First lady Michelle Obama on Thursday urged a crowd of 1,500 at the EXDO Center north of downtown Denver, Colorado to vote for Democratic Senator Mark Udall in the upcoming midterm elections.

The first lady was in Colorado to gather Democrats for Udall. She likened the energy of the crowd to what she saw six years ago when President Barack Obama was first nominated in Denver.

The tight race between the Republicans and the Democrats is getting more intense by the day as both parties seek to take control of the Senate. Udall is said to be in a tight race with Republican Representative Cory Gardner.

The first lady talked about her husband's phenomenal job performance and she reminded the Democrats in Colorado that the president faced lot of problems when he took office in 2009.

The economy was already at the brink of collapse that time and now people had forgotten how bad the recession was because everything has gotten much better, the first lady pressed. Job growth is skyrocketing, unemployment rate is lower and working families pay lesser taxes, she added.

The crowd continued to cheer when the first lady talked about the Affordable Care Act which continues to support millions of Americans' in terms of health insurance.

The first lady then noted that all of these were not possible if President Obama did not have other officials who helped him reach their goals. She added that everything happened because people elected outstanding leaders such as Senator Udall.

Obama also warned that if Udall is not elected, there will be more opposition to the immigration reform and bosses that will make women's decisions regarding their birth control.

"Vote as soon as you can and get everyone you know to vote with you. Call your friends, your family," Michelle Obama urged. "Everybody knows somebody who's sitting on the couch right now who's not even focused on this. Find that person in your life. Shake 'em up."

Udall then started to talk and said that there are only 12 days left and he wants to stay in his position for six more years and that he wants to continue to move forward. And by moving forward, the senator meant raising the minimum wage, respecting women's reproductive freedom, equal pay for equal work, comprehensive immigration reform, protecting the Social Security, and marriage equality.

The first lady has been going to numerous rallies in behalf of her husband as she urged people to vote for the Democrats. The polls, however, indicate that Obama's administration has only gotten 41 percent approval from the public.
