GLAAD Writer Says Ariana Grande Leaving Catholic Church Should be "Wake Up" Call

Ross Murray, the director of news at GLAAD wrote a lengthy post on the GLADD website claiming that the pop star, Ariana Grande's breaking from the Roman Catholic Church because of their rejection of gay people, should serve as a wake up call to the Catholic Leaders that they are driving young people away from the religion over the "lie" that God does not love them.

Murray writes, "I wish I could say that this is a rare story, but sadly, it is not. Just a couple years ago, Anne Hathaway shared a very similar story, it also happens outside of the entertainment industry, it happens to countless of families and siblings every single day and often they are faced with the choice between standing beside a loved one or believing that God has run out of love for them because of their choice of partner. It's an epidemic and it has to stop"
In 2013, Ariana announced that she was no longer Christian and has transitioned to Kabbalah, she says she made the move because she lost faith in the Pope after he decided to dictate everything, from who to love and what to believe in.
She was quoted saying "They say Spongebob is gay and that he is a sinner, they say he should burn in hell. The Church also says that Harry Potter is a sin because its witchcraft and that was the last straw, first it was about the gays and then Harry Potter---so I decided to let go and pursue another religion."
The singer then continued to gush about her new found religion, who welcomed her with open arms "Kabbalah is basically the practice of being a good person, what people don't know is that if you are kind you can make all sorts of things happen for you."
