Top seeded David Ferrer and third seeded wild card Andy Murray have won their respective second round matches and are on track for a semifinal clash at the Valencia Open 500 in Spain on Thursday.
The three-time tournament champion had an all-Spanish encounter against Fernando Vedasco whom he swept away in a matter of 67 minutes 6-3 6-2.

"The first set was very important," Ferrer said. "I played very well in the first games - when he was hitting the ball very hard - and it wasn't easy. I stayed solid in the second set took my chances."
The 32-year-old Ferrer won all of his nine service games, broke Verdasco once in the first set and twice in the second set to setup a Erste Bank Open finals rematch against Murray in the quarters.
Britain's No. 1 Murray also had a relatively easy match against Fabio Fognini as the Scot kept pressure on the Italian with his gigantic serves and jumped at every second serves Fognini dished out to keep him behind the lines.
The third seeded Murray did not face any break points and broke Fognini three times to win the match 6-2 6-4.
With second seeded Tomas Berdych out of the competition, Murray is looking to capitalize his spot at the Road to London where he is just 220 points behind the seventh placed Berdych in the eight-man short list of the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals.
Ferrer on the other hand is currently in 10th place and needs to win his fourth title in the tournament in order to surpass both of them.
Before their semifinal encounter, Ferrer must defeat Brazilian qualifier Thomaz Belucci first who made the quarters after sixth seeded Roberto Bautista Agut withdrew from the tournament due to abdominal pain while Murray will go up against seventh seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa who advance to the quarterfinals after Martin Klizan also withdrew from the event.
