Survey: Facebook is Bad for Sex

A survey by British condom maker Durex uncovered a startling fact: five percent of American respondents checked Facebook during lovemaking.

It also revealed that 20 percent of the adults who took part in the survey admitted to have used a smartphone while having sex with their partners.

And, yes, it does mean these people stopped making love to either check on FB or pick up their smartphone. This "bad" habit is giving rise to a new definition of "threeway."

Even more startling: 12 percent of Americans said they took a phone call while having sex. One in ten read a text message while having sex.

Sixty percent of respondents also admitted to have spent more time tinkering on some technological device than making love to their partners.

The British are also as guilty of violating bedroom mores. A surprising finding in a similar survey of Brits found out that more than 15 percent admitted they would take a phone call or read a text message during sex. The worst offenders are London-based males who are twice likely to do this as females.

The survey also revealed that 33 percent of respondents claimed that technology has gotten in the way of their sex lives. No surprise here considering the survey results.

Twitter users are in for a shock. The survey also showed that people who use Twitter have shorter relationships than non-users on the average.

Forty percent of respondents accused technological products such as computers, mobiles and the Internet as factors that negatively affect their relationships.

A survey by another company discovered that young Brits are having less sex today than in the past, with social media partly to blame.

Durex is an abbreviation of "Durability, Reliability, and Excellence." Durex condoms control one fourth of the global market for condoms. The company manufactures some one billion condoms per year in 17 factories worldwide.
