Hong Kong actor Hawick Lau says he has been focusing on his family more, busying himself with finding a suitable school for his daughter as he believes that early childhood education is effective for a child's learning and development.

Lau has been turning down job offers since the birth of his daughter with Yang Mi whom they've nicknamed 'Little Sticky Rice.' The actor is currently concentrating on spending time with his wife and daughter, thus his decision to turn down job offers that would require him to leave home for extended periods of time.

According to the actor, he is working his way into becoming a good father to his daughter and is currently searching for a suitable academic institute that his child would attend in the future.

Lau's daughter is not even one year old yet, but he says that since his schedule as well as that of his wife is unstable and inconsistent, it was better to think about their child's education as early as now.

The actor, who is a first-time father, shared that he believes in the significance of early education for children, adding that it would help them learn important values and morals.

Although Lau may seem very concerned about his daughter's education as early as now, he said that he will allow her to choose the career she wants in the future. Should their daughter decide to become an actress, Lau said that he will be backing his daughter as long as she is happy with what she does.

When asked whether he has plans to have a second child, he shared that he and Yang Mi are not planning for it any time soon, saying that they are currently happy with the birth of their first child.

He says that although he enjoys being in the company of his child and is fond of children, he would choose to concentrate on raising their daughter first.
