'Between Two Ferns' Draws Brad Pitt, Louis C.K.

"Between Two Ferns" hosted by Zach Galifianakis on "Funny or Die" was buzzing along Friday with the release of new episodes featuring his trademark awkward interview style with Brad Pitt and Louis C.K. The latest fern show attracted more then 3 million views within a day of its late Wednesday release.

The show revolves around Galifianakis' comedic interviews with celebrities conducted on a set, as the name implies, between two ferns, and streams online. It even has attracted President Barack Obama who appeared in March to plug health-care reform.

Pitt sat in the hot seat ostensibly promoting his new film "Fury," which Galifianakis referred to as "Furry."

Decorum - as usually is the case with the quirky web series - quickly exited stage right as Galifianakis launched into an awkward interview beginning with the introduction of one Bradley Pitts, also referred to as Bart Pit from "12 Years a Salve."

Galifianakis wanted to know Pitts' age when he lost his virginity and what's the deal with him not showering. Pitt maintained his composure even when the host gave him a gift-wrapped object shaped like a bong.

Galifianakis said the gift was a bassoon. Referring to himself as a dad now, Pitt shot back, "We don't bassoon in my house anymore."

Other funny exchanges that haven't died yet included Galifianakis asking Pitt if he and buddy George Clooney looked at each other in tuxedos and said, "'Aren't we a couple of dapper dans?'" Galifianakis also asked why Pitt played Nazi haters when he looked "like Hitler's dream."

As Galifianakis continued lampooning the actor, including the observation that his movie star looks kept people from noticing he was "just a sh***y actor," comic genius Louis C.K, a Galifianakis buddy, crashed the set. C.K. launched into his standup act doing a joke about ISIS.

"Between Two Ferns" debuted on January 4, 2008. It's had a slew of A-list celebrities besides the president, Pitt and C.K. including the likes of Bradley Cooper, Justin Bieber and Natalie Portman. Comics Scott Aukerman and B.J. Porter write the show along with Galifianakis. Aukerman also directs the show that has won an Emmy Award for short-format live-action entertainment programs.
