In just 24 hours after its official release, the trailer for Marvel's most-anticipated sequel "Avengers: Age of Ultron" has managed to attract 34.3 million global views. This breaks the 20-million record set by another Robert Downey Jr. starrer under Marvel, last year's "Iron Man 3."

The trailer was officially set to debut on the October 28th episode of ABC's Marvel's "Agents of SHIELD," but when the video was "leaked" via Youtube on Wednesday night, Disney decided to make it official.

"Agents of SHIELD" fans will still have something to look forward to as Marvel Studios promised more footage from the Avengers movie to come with next week's broadcast.

All two minutes of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" teaser trailer are set in dark undertones, opening up with the voice of James Spader as Ultron, Tony Stark's science project gone wrong. Ultron's threat is nothing short of devastating for both the world and its famed protectors.

Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Cobie Smulders all reprise their roles in the sequel.

Joining the super cast are Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, playing Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch, respectively--both first seen in the mid-credits teaser from "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," which headlined earlier this year.

The first Avengers movie in 2012 kicked off with an estimated $200 million in the box office, surpassing "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," which was short of around $30 million in comparison. Joss Whedon continues his charge as the director / writer of the Avengers franchise.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" opens in theaters in May 2015.
