Third seeded wild card entry Andy Murray has won his second straight tournament against Tommy Robredo in three grueling sets 3-6 7(9)-6(7) 7(10)-6(8) at the Valencia Open 500 in Spain on Sunday.
In the rematch of the recent Shenzhen Open finals last month, Murray and Robredo battled another three-set thriller as the 32-year-old Spaniard broke the Erste Bank Open champion once to take the first set.

In the second set, Robredo was determined to win his first title in the tournament as well as his first ATP World Tour crown of the year as he broke the Scot early but Murray would not be outdone as he broke the Spaniard back to force the set into a tie-break.
The tie-break was a test of nerves as both players held on to their serves but Murray finally edged out Robredo to even the match at one apiece.
The third and deciding set was more of the same as both players exchanged breaks mid-way and then send the set into sudden-death where Murray and Robredo had to pull out their reserves but the 2009 former champion secured his title after a smashing backhand passing shot.
The exhausting three-set encounter lasted three hours and 20 minutes, and as soon as Murray walks to the net to shake on Robredo's hands as a sign of sportsmanship, the Spaniard gave Murray a hilarious two "dirty fingers" to the laughter of the Scot.
With the win, Murray has collected 500 points had almost assured himself of a spot at the year-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London. From eighth place, he surpassed Kei Nishikori to take over 5th place in the eight-man short list.
With just one tournament away, the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris, if Murray loses in the very first round, Nishikori or Tomas Berdych must make the semis to clinch a spot while David Ferrer, Milos Raonic or Grigor Dimitrov must win the event in order for the Scot to be eliminated in the prestigious event.
A far cry from happening but the ball is round and in tennis, anything goes.
