Usher is very much aware that Bieber has had numerous run-ins with the law and has not been behaving very well. Usher said that he is not very happy with the choices that his friend has made but he is supportive of the 20-year-old star as he has been his mentor ever since he started in the business at the age of 13.
The 36-year-old "The Voice" mentor added that Bieber is already making his own decisions and it's important to show that he supports him as their relationship has involved into something more and described it as "man-to-man".
He also pressed that he tries his best to give as much "positive reinforcement" as he can to Bieber and despite saying that he would punch the star, he added that he will give Bieber a hug and a kiss when he needs to. Usher noted that it's already more than mentoring as he really loves Bieber and considers him a very good friend of his.
Aside from the interview, Usher has already defended Bieber after a video of the star has surfaced on the internet showing that he used the n word as a joke. Usher noted in a statement that Bieber might have not "chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist".
Bieber has been in a couple of run-ins such as vandalizing and egging his neighbor's home, racing and driving under the influence on Miami Beach, and a whole lot more. Bieber is said to be serving two years' probation and is then required to complete 12 weeks of anger management classes.
Bieber has posted a tweet on his Twitter account after the story was run and he said "Love bro" directed to Usher.
