Just in time for the Halloween season, the new trailer for the latest insidious movie "Insidious 3" was released by Focus Features.

The film is the first movie to be directed by writer Leigh Whannell who is best known for his work on three "Saw" films, he also worked alongside his fellow director and Insidious franchise co-creator James Wan.

The movie follows the story of a young woman, played by Stefanie Scott, who becomes the target of a supernatural being from a realm known as "The Further" which then prompts her family to seek the help of psychic Elise Rainier, played by Lin Shaye.

The stars of the first two films, Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell, will also return to reprise the roles they had in the previous two. 

The first 'Insidious' film raked US$97 million at the global box office despite having only a budget of US$1.5 million. Its sequel was developed with a slightly bigger budget of US$5 million and grossed US$161 million worldwide.

'Insidious 3' will be distributed by Sony pictures worldwide and is produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions.

Wan previously directed the first two Insidious films and is also the director for the upcoming 'Fast & Furious 7' which is entitled simply as 'Furious 7' in respect to its star Paul Walker who died of a car crash. Wan has also reportedly been signed to work on a film with DC entertainment. He will also take on the directorial duties for 'The Conjuring 2"

Insidious 3 is set for release on May 29, 2015.
