Developers from the United Kingdom are working on replacing standard aircraft windows with smartscreen panels that broadcast the view outside an aircraft, lessen fuel consumption and significantly reduce airfare.
This windowless plane will allow people to see a lot more of the sky and sights outside the airplane; a wonder to some but fearful to others.

Whatever the reactions may be, it's clear these types of planes are truly the future of flying, with the smartscreens broadcasting the view seen outside the aircraft.
The developers said the passengers will be able to switch the view on and off according to their preferences. Passengers may even identify prominent sights by simply tapping the screen, or use the screen as a device to connect to the internet.
This new technology hails from the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), an England-based organization that works with companies to develop new products. It's actually based on the technology found in mobile phones and televisions.
The windowless plane was conceived when the creators were trying to imagine how large, lightweight, hi-definition displays could form the inside of a plane's fuselage, with cameras displaying images of the exterior onto the screens.
More than that, these planes are being developed to address ever-present problems of the aviation industry: reducing weight and cutting fuel consumptions, which when achieved can reduce air fares.
The screens they plan on using are made from organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). They are a combination of materials that give out their own light when activated by electricity.
Their main problem is the price and OLEDs sensitivity to moisture. In common uses (TVs and smartphones) OLEDs are encased in glass. Thus, the team is trying to develop flexile OLEDs for airplanes.
The smart OLEDs could also be used as "smart packaging" for food and medicine, with information being displayed on a mobile phone.
