Thousands of Hong Kong residents showed they have had enough of the protests and chaos caused by Occupy Central members, by signing a petition to suppport police action against the pro-democracy leaders.
It has been five weeks since the students staged their protests. On Saturday, around 350,000 residents and opposition groups took to the streets in a move to oppose the protesters and condemn their campaign for democracy in the region.

Some of the residents said the Central Occupy movement did not take into consideration the views and opinions of the opposing side and went ahead in their protests.
Reports said majority of the opposing side were fed up with the demonstrations that have disrupted their lives for weeks now.
After a week of talks between the government and pro-democracy activists, the students said it remained unclear whether the government would want to sustain a dialogue with them on Hong Kong's political structure. Opponents of the Occupy Central campaign, took advantage of the absence of a new dialogue, and organized Saturday's protest.
A housewife from the western part of Hong Kong said that videos of the ongoing rallies were "emotionally disturbing" to her. She called the actions of the protesters "annoying" and "selfish" saying that they took the wrong path in seeking freedom.
Mr. and Mrs. Cheng, whose house is just a stone's throw away from the rallies in Mong Kok, said that they have signed the petition encouraging police action.
Mrs. Cheng said that with the protests entering its sixth week, she has lost sympathy for the students' plight and called them "barbaric."
She said the protesters have become incoherent and radical in their actions and their protests have become a nuisance.
