The two crowning achievements in singer Phil Collins' life are his musical career and his daughter, actress Lily Collins.

Collins said he is extremely proud of his daughter and the fact that she is doing very well on her own in Hollywood.

The singer, whose rock royalty status was further solidified when his former band Genesis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, has worked with and has been a source of inspiration for many of today's artists.

Collins has collaborated with the likes of Wyclef Jean and Pharrell Williams, but has called pop diva Adele a "slippery little fish" because despite constant talks, their collaboration has yet to materialize.

Adele, a fan of Collins, reached out to the singer-songwriter because she needed help with finishing a song. But after not hearing from her after he sent her a completed version of the music, he said that he felt like he failed an audition.

"Then she said, 'No, no, I'm moving house and the baby's taking up a lot of my time, I'm not actually doing anything at the moment.' And now I've heard there's a 29 coming out. I'm not on it, I know that," he said.

Collins might have been a little bit irked at what had progressed with Adele, but he certainly is close to another prominent British figure - Prince Charles.

He shared that he attended Prince Charles' wedding to Camilla Parker-Bowles, but that he can't quite remember what he gave them.

Collins said he really likes the royal prince, saying, "We all know he's very green and has this orchard at Highgrove [Prince Charles' country home], so every time it's his birthday or something, I always get The Prince's Trust to plant a tree. So maybe I did that kind of thing. I was flattered to be invited."
