The show first made its opening last October 26, 2014 and Sting was there to watch it. Without a doubt, he was proud of the work that the whole cast has performed on that day; in his own words, he said that it was an out-of-body experience.

The crowd was ecstatic of the whole event but some theatre experts and critics were not that much sold out on the outcome. However, they still said some positive remarks on the musical. The New York Times said some real good words about the play but they didn't think it was perfect. Time Out New York thought it didn't sympathize enough on the main details.

John Logan and Brian Yorkey wrote the play. This musical has all the music of Sting from his album called The Last Ship, which was released back in 2013. The cast did a pretty good job and among them are Jimmy Nail, Michael Esper and Racher Tucker who are no stranger when it comes to theater acting.

This brand new musical had its first opening at the Neil Simon Theater in New York City. Directed by Joe Mantello, The Last Ship will surely give you a fresh perspective on Broadway musicals. Call 877-250-2929 for ticket reservations.
