Apple Inc. has promised to give $100 million to President Barack Obama's new education program called ConnectED and has released some new details on how that money will be utilized in the program.
President Obama announced the ConnectED program in June, which was created in an effort to bring stable Wi-Fi and high-speed broadband to 99 percent of schools across the U.S. The high speed broadband to be implemented will be no less than 100Mbps and 1Gbps.

Apple pledged the $100 million toward the initiative earlier this year, but only today revealed information on where the money will be used and how it'll benefit the ConnectED program. The $100 million be distributed between 114 different schools in 29 total states.
According to reports, each student at the 114 schools on Apple's list will receive an iPad. In addition, administrators and teachers will also be receiving Macs with Apple TV set-top boxes to be used in all classrooms.
Apple has chosen schools in poor areas that are working on very small budgets, and are less fortunate than most schools that already have the technology.
Of the 114 schools chosen by Apple, 96 percent of the students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches. Students of Black, Hispanic, Alaskan Native, or Asian decent combine for 92 percent of the population at these schools.
"Despite their economic challenges, these schools share a vision of what their students' lives would be like with Apple technology," Apple says.
Which areas across the United States Apple will implement their technology can be seen on the map below.

Not only will Apple be giving these schools their products, they'll also be providing each school with an "Apple Education Team" to help teachers create lessons for their students while using the new technology.
