South Korean band EXO's former Chinese member Lu Han has reportedly declined an offer to star as the lead role in an upcoming film despite the large sum of money that comes with it for the sake of his health.
It was previously reported that Lu has been offered to star in a new drama entitled 'Zhu Xian' alongside Hong Kong actress Yang Mi. The reports also claimed that the singer agreed to it, however, it was refuted by the drama's production team.

Another report says that the 24-year old former idol has been given an offer to star in a new film, but it is said that casting him was not successful as he declined the offer. According to sources, Lu declined due to his health which was also previously stated to have declined prior to his filing to nullify his contract with SM Entertainment, the talent outfit that manages EXO.
Based on Chinese media reports, Mainland China producer Tian Mei, who is the director behind many CCTV shows, recently offered a high-paying role to Lu. The producer was allegedly hoping to cast him as the lead role in the film.
However, according to media reports, the singer did not even give it much thought before refusing to take up the offer, saying that he has to sort out matters about his health first.
Previously, Lu is said to have suffered from fatigue and dehydration while some sources claimed that the young idol has also suffered from stroke symptoms.
On the other hand, Tian has taken to Weibo to defend Lu from the rumors which claimed that he left EXO for personal gain. In her post, she wrote, "If the original family was very caring, no one would want to leave," allegedly referring to Lu's issue with SM Entertainment.
She also confirmed that she has offered a large sum of money to the singer to play the lead role for her film, but he declined, adding that Lu appeared like he needed rest.
"I saw that Lu Han is not the type of person that is focused on personal gain. I give you my blessing!" said Tian on he post.
