1. Slippers. There are different home etiquettes around the world, and in China, guests are expected to take off their footwear before entering the house. Different types of slippers including warm ones, waterproof and unisex slippers are found inside a house provided for guests. According to Chinese tradition, the slippers keep the soles of the feet warm from the ground while the other parts correspond to our body's health.
2. Traditional Medicine. Believe it or not, traditional Chinese medicine can give you a lot of ease and comfort. It can help relieve body aches despite the fact that Westerners see it more like quackery or a form of novelty. Acupuncture and herbal medicines, however, has its benefits that most expats see as gentler to the body compared to the traditional medicine we all know.
3. KTV (Karaoke TV). Although some people in non-KTV loving countries despise the idea and see it as a loud noise, KTV sessions in China are a good way to socialize. With a beer on the side, you get to sing (even if you can't really hit the right notes) your heart out with people who share the same singing capacity you have.
4. Street Food. China offers variety of street food available even early in the morning. Although other people see this as unhealthy food, nothing beats the convenience you get along with the delish flavors you get to devour.
5. Public Transportation. Taxis are great cheap rides, but buses and subways offer even cheaper rates. It would be amazing to know that it only costs a few RMB for a subway ride that takes you from Beijing to the other end of the metropolis.
