Taylor Swift may be a big name in the pop circle, but the mega star, whose album 1989, has just been released lately, got a little teary-eyed Monday when she coached a soul singer on The Voice.
Contestant Damien, who belongs to the Adam Levine team, was described by the Grammy-winning songstress as "smooth" Marvin Gaye-type performer who belts "from the heart."

The wanna-be Voice champ opted for the LeAnn Rimes hit, "How Do I Live Without You" at the start of the knockout round. The Shake It Off singer has nothing but pure admiration for his performance.
Swift recalled that his choice of song actually reminds her of her youth.
"That was my pre-teen go-to for karaoke," the 24-year-old Taylor explained. He praised Damien for his clean, poignant rendition, albeit the few ad libs he committed.
"You are so amazing, I want to cry," she said. Swift got from her seat to congratulate him.
"He is so vulnerable and so strong at the same time," he continued.
The seven-time Grammy winning singer who crossed-over from country to pop, appeared on The Voice as a guest mentor.
Damien was vied against equally-powerful singer Toia Jones, who also delivered a helluvah performance after singing Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love." However, Maroon 5 lead vocalist preferred Damien.
Meanwhile, Coach Gwen Stefani let het youngsters Bryana Salaz and Sugar Joans go face to face.
While Sugar has a strong technical skill, Gwen chose Bryana. However, Happy singer Pharrell Williams came to Sugar rescue.
"Your affinity to soul music blew me away," he told Sugar.
In Blake Shelton's camp, Griffin versus James David Carter came face to face.
Country singer James played a subdued version of James Taylor's "You've Got A Friend," while Nashville native Griffin preferred to go pop with "As Long As You Love Me" by Justin Bieber.
"But I got to stick with my man James," Blake said.
Pharrell, meanwhile, matched DaNica Shirey and Katriz Trinidad.
DaNica chose Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love," dedicating the song for her fiancé.
Katriz, who was applauded for her effortless performance, sang "Superwoman" by Alicia Keys .
DaNica, however, won over because of her "Raw emotion" and "personality."
