With her album "1989" officially released, pop princess Taylor Swift was named by NYC Go as a Global Welcome Ambassador for tourism. It was revealed on "Good Morning America" on Monday.
During her interview with co-host Robin Roberts, Swift said, "You learn a lot when you get here and the cool thing about being named the Welcome Ambassador for Tourism - which was the craziest coolest thing - is that I'm still learning,"

"But I'm so enthusiastic about this city that I feel like, when I love something, I'm very vocal about it, I'm vocal about it with my music. I just go around like, 'Everybody! New York is amazing!' So I think they just picked up on that and gave me a title."
Swift seems to love every minute of living in New York after she bought a US$20 million apartment there last May. Swift is known to write her songs about the experiences she had in real life and she mentions "New York was a huge landscape for what became this album. It's affected my life in ways I'm not even aware of fully."
So how did the city affected her album you may say? Well, the opening track's title is "Welcome to New York." That would perfectly fit her for the title of being Big Apple's welcome ambassador.
Aside from her title, she will also be performing on December 31 on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacreast 2015." Taking the stage in Times Square on New Year's Eve, she said "I'm so excited... It's going to be so great to be back here for New Year's."
