Kylie Jenner, 17, recently posted a picture to her Shots account, and it is causing quite the media frenzy. In the photo, she is captured with her short hair draped across her face, whilst revealing and emphasizing her extremely plump lips in red.

While her luscious red lips are fast becoming her trademark on social media, the question remains, are they fake or real?

Many are concerned that her lips are getting bigger and bigger. This past year, her Instagram account has been bombarded with selfies of her full lips, and many have speculated that they are the result of plastic surgery.

The musings emerged after people made comparisons of the reality star's photos now, and those of back in 2010. Both old and new photos show undeniably attractive genes, but there is a significant change in her look.

Hollywood Life speculates that the significant change in the youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan's lips might have been brought on by the family members themselves.

At 18, her older sister, Kendall Jenner, has already built for herself a successful modeling career. At 34, her sister Kim Kardashian has selfied each stunning aspect of her body. Other older sisters Khloe, 30, and Kourtney, 35, are also both beautiful women themselves.

Then there's her 58-year-old mom, Kris Jenner, who is still quite the attractive and sexy to boot despite her age and one who loves showing off her body in stylish outfits.

Apart from the good genes, there's also the openness of the family to plastic surgery.

At 64, Bruce Jenner, 64, has also altered his looks over the years. Kris also went under the knife to get a face lift and a breast lift on the reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," afterwhich  showing off the results proudly. Kim has had no arguments showing that she got Botox injections on the show too.

These changes, which are quite normal to the clan, might have brought on Kylie's desire to apply some changes to her appearance as well.

Apart from her lips, Hollywood Life said her nose is noticeably thinner than in 2010.

Multiple plastic surgeons have also been asked about Kylie's change in appearance, with reporters trying to figure out if they are borne out of makeup or going under the knife.

"Her nose looks thinner and more refined, possibly from a subtle rhinoplasty,"  Dr. Anthony Youn of Youn Plastic Surgery told RadarOnline.

"That is not just lipstick. Her lips look three times as wide as they did before," Dr. Michael Salzhauer also told HollywoodLife.com.  Salzhauer added that the dramatically fuller lips are due to lip injections.

Meanwhile, there are also those who noticed how much Kylie looks a lot like Kim now, which could quite possibly be what Kylie may be trying to achieve.

"I think that all the Kardashians have got to feel a lot of pressure to look a certain way, in terms of their fans and being photographed all of the time, and their family culture," according to LA psychiatrist Dr. Jenn Berman, as told to HollywoodLife.com.

"Sibling rivalry is in every family so it would be understandable that she would want to turn herself into a Kim look-a-like," said relationship expert Dr. Gilda Carle of drgilda.com.

Meanwhile, while there are those who speculate and praise, there are also those who mock photos with changes like Kylie's.

In an Instagram photo posted Oct. 24, Selena Gomez, 22, appeared to be mocking Kylie's lips. The selfie was captioned, "Naughty @gwenysloco."

Now, Kylie has responded to all the frenzy when it comes to her lips, commanding people to stop with the lip gossip, reports MTV.

Late Monday night, she reached out to people putting too much attention on her lips via Twitter with an "I don't care" attitude, as described by MTV.
