NBA Stars to Visit Summer Camps in Beijing

Players of the National Basketball Association (NBA) are expected to visit Yao Ming's the NBA Yao School in Beijing during the summer camps that will offer basketball training and fitness programs, NBA China said.
The camps, which will be held from 14 July to 23 August, will be set up at the Wukesong Hi-Park in Beijing's Haidan District and the No 3 Middle School in Chaoyang District, said Yao Ming and NBA China in a joint statement.

The summer camps will run for six-weeks under the leadership of technical director Billy Singleton, with the aim of inculcating the values of of leadership, teamwork and communication in a basketball environment.
Singleton has more than two decades of experience in playing and coaching around the world, the statement released on Friday said.
Although the names of NBA players who are expected to visit the summer camps have not been disclosed yet, the statement said the players will give special basketball instructions and tips to participants.
Those who want to join in the summer camp are advised to visit the website of the NBA Yao School for more information and reservation.
Yao Ming, who launched the program in February of this year, said the summer camps are designed to impact the lives of Chinese youth through basketball training and participation.
He said the summer camps teach the youth the values of communication, leadership and teamwork and the same time make them enjoy the sport.
David Shoemaker, NBA China CEO, said the NBA is delighted to continue partnering with Yao in the program that provide the youth with a venue to acquire self-confidence and improve their basketball skills at the same time.
NBA China has been providing support to Yao foundation's Hope School Basketball Season. Last year, the 79 Hope Schools in China successfully reached out to more than 60,000 children and youth.
