The GOP of Texas has issued an apology to both the voters of District 105 and to Democrat Susan Motley after Republican Rodney Anderson's campaign team accused the Democratic candidate of breaking the law and forwarded mails to all the voters about her supposed wrongdoing.
Texas GOP chairman Steve Munisteri said in the retraction that they acted in good faith regarding the complaints against Motley.

However, Munisteri acknowledged his party's mistake and called the claims "erroneous" attack ads. He apologized to the voters about any confusion the allegations against Motley might have caused. They also apologized to Motley on the erroneous information disseminated to the public.
Motley accepted the apology and praised the GOP for issuing and retraction, but called out on the campaign team of Anderson, who did not make any effort in correcting the wrong information they have mailed to the voters of District 105.
"The person most silent is Rodney Anderson, who mislead not only voters but his own party. He owes voters an apology," Motley said.
Anderson's team mailed District 105 voters Motely violating the Hatch Act, which prohibits government employees from entering politics. Anderson's campaign team even announced it in various press releases.
But Motley is not a government employee. She works as a lawyer for a nonprofit organization that takes federal funds for its operation. Experts have weighed in on the issue and said that the Hatch Act was not at all applicable to Motley's status, but the Republican-paid mails and ads that were blasted to all the voters said otherwise.
Anderson's team had to apologize after a federal agency in the area has cleared his opponent of the supposed violation she has committed and that Motley's team has threatened to sue the Republicans due to the wrong claims blasted to the voters in the area.
Motley and Anderson are running for the Texas House District in District 105.
