Video Game Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will launch in the 2015 holiday season. EA boss Andrew Wilson made the announcement.
"Next year, we will ensure that our players have enough time between releases to fully explore the depth and innovation in our shooter titles," Wilson said.

"EA continues to put our players first, delivering new experiences, innovation, and new ways to play. We want to give the players more time to enjoy these games and immerse themselves in a game, the live service, and the community," he added.
Some reports claim Battlefront is currently in development at Battlefield developer DICE in Sweden.
The new Battlefront will coincide with the theatrical release of the J.J. Abrams directed sequel, Star Wars: Episode VI,I on December 18. The game will feature content derived from the movie, reports said.
Blake Jorgensen, EA Chief Financial Officer, said Star Wars Battlefront will be the company's "major first-person shooter" for the year. And the next Battlefield game, which is called Battlefield 5, won't be released until holiday 2016.
The release of the new games allows EA to have a major first-person shooter title each year, Jorgensen added.
EA also announced that Battlefield Hardline will hit consoles and PCs on March 17, 2015.
