(Photo : AP) Relatives of Chinese passengers on-board the Malaysia Airlines MH370 push through a police line to march to the Malaysian embassy from a hotel in Beijing.
Upset family members of the missing flight MH370 passengers held ten Malaysia Airlines (MAS) workers in Lido Hotel's ballroom in Beijing. The 'hostage' situation lasted for over 10 hours.
Joshua Lau, regional senior vice president of MAS, said their regular briefing began on Thursday at 3:00 pm. This recent briefing aimed to discuss the information relayed by Malaysian authorities during a Kuala Lumpur press conference held the previous day. The latest session ended at 1:30 am yesterday because the families kept on demanding answers to their queries regarding the missing aircraft.

According to New Strait Times, Lau responded to reports of the Malaysian Airlines staff being held hostage. He said the session only went past the usual duration because of the number of questions and requests of the families. He stressed that it was not a hostage situation as the participants merely waited inside the hotel's ballroom.
Lau said the long discussion ended at 2:00 am when the missing passengers' family members started going to the Malaysian embassy. He did not provide more details about the incident.
In a report published by The Mole, one source said around 400 family members of the MH370 passengers became upset when airline officials told them that the unidentified debris found in Australia's Augusta shore did not belong to the missing plane. The agency also said the families refused to accept the explanations of the airline. Instead, they wanted to hear an official statement from either the Malaysian or the Australian authorities.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) reportedly said it was positive that the unidentified object that washed up on the Australia shore was not from the missing airplane. The search for the MH370 had already reached its 49th day yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority has scheduled a visual search for the missing aircraft amid the rough weather. The search will focus on northwestern Perth and will cover a 49,240-square-kilometer area.
