Even from the front office, National Basketball Association legend Michael Jordan is finding ways to win. His winning ability extends beyond the court and is rubbing off on his Charlotte Hornets.
The Hornet's culture was once known as a losing one, but is being changed by Jordan. The team is entering the 2014-2015 NBA season with high expectations.

In a press conference in their stadium, Jordan looked relaxed and seemed to know something that seemed to have an impact on the Hornet's playing. The Hornets are on a streak since the preseason, with six wins, and Jordan says a seventh one would be sweet.
He also added that helping the Hornets win their first NBA title is something that drives the Hall of Famer in his post-playing career. It would be more rewarding than his previous championships, as being an owner is harder than being a player he said.
"I can impact the game in shorts and tennis shoes," Jordan said. "When I had those on it was easy to prove people wrong. It's hard to do that now when I have a suit on. I have to rely upon other people understanding my message and my focus."
The message and the focus seem to be understood as the Hornets have come together and are headed in the right direction.
Key to his new team are the new acquisitions he secured previously. One of them is point guard Kemba Walker who the Hornets have agreed to sign a contract extension.
The other player is Lance Stephenson, formerly from the Indiana Pacers, who Michael Jordan got specifically for Lebron James.
In a separate interview with ESPN, Jordan commented that if he wanted to win a championship, they would have to beat James. That's why they signed James' biggest agitator, Stephenson.
"We need someone to compete with Lebron, simple as that," Jordan said.
With the building blocks of his small-market team complete, Jordan is optimistic for a run at the title.
