The 39-year-old made the candid statement in an interview with Absolute Radio's Geoff Lloyd. He revealed that he is a "tedious" heterosexual and it was his desire to be also attracted and attached to men, given that he is single and he is always positive about dating with the same sex.

"I'm single. Well, you've got to go into relationships with the right attitude. All relationships, I'm always positive about them," he said.

"I wish I was bisexual. That's one of the things about me where I've got a very traditional moral code. I'm tedious with my heterosexuality," he continued.

Brand and Khan had been dating together for over one year. Khan even quipped that Brand was the "best sex of her life".

Brand's revelation about his sexual preferences followed his revelation that he performed gay sex act as part of his documentary about social taboos.

The comedian, who was also the former husband of singer Katy Perry, admitted to having a sexual encounter with a man in a London pub. He said he was really interested of expanding his sexual boundaries.

In a podcast he posted online, he said: "I thought, 'I think of myself as heterosexual but perhaps that's 'cause of the environment that I grew up in where homosexuality may have been difficult for me to express.'"

Brand also shrugged off the rumors that he aims to succeed Boris Johnson as the Mayor of London.

"We've already got a comic in the job. If you want a daft comedian running London, just leave things as they are. What I'm interested in is real change," he said.
